Altona “Toni” Heffley, 78, formerly of Columbia City, passed away at 5:28 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 at Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky.

Born on May 3, 1948, in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a daughter of the late Mitchell and Juanita (Combs) Johnson. She graduated from Dilce Combs High School in Jeff, Kentucky.

Toni worked at Bluebell Fiber Form in Columbia City for several years.

She was united in marriage to Leon Franklin Heffley. They made their home in Columbia City. Leon died October 12, 2016.

Toni enjoying watching wildlife and working in the garden, tending her flowers. She loved being with her dog, Princess.

Toni was a member of Pentecostal Church of God and a lifetime member of the VFW.

She is survived by her loving nieces, Wanda Singleton and Juanita Johnson; and grandchildren, Homer Joe Knight and Kyle Knight.

Along with her husband and parents, Toni was preceded in death by her daughter, Shirleen Knight; sons, Dallas Knight and Edward Knight.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, 7th November at Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will follow at South Park Annex Cemetery. Visitation will be held from Noon until the service at the Funeral Home.
