Andrea Jane Beck, 58, of rural Columbia City, died peacefully in the company of family at home at 10:04 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2023.

Born on December 26, 1964, in Rockford, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Per Waldemar and Vivan C. (Severin) Levin. Growing up in Rockford, she graduated from Guilford High School in 1982. She continued her education at Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, earning a Bachelor's in Elementary Education.

Meeting her husband, Jeffrey A. Beck, while a student at Taylor, the two were wed on July 25, 1987. They made their first home in Fort Wayne. In 2004, they moved to Whitley County.

Passionate about educating children, she worked as a substitute teacher at the area grade schools in addition to raising two daughters. After becoming the church secretary at the First Church of God, she found her true calling when she became the Stepping Stones Preschool director at the church. With a servant's heart, she devoted her time to the children and staff of the school. If she was not working directly with the kids, she was working with the staff to continually improve the school. She is remembered for her dedication and caring influence on those around her.

Surviving is her husband, Jeff; two daughters, Lenah M. Beck of Fort Wayne, IN and Megan L. (Jay) White of Muncie, IN; siblings, Judy A. (John) Thomas of North Port, FL, Alan G. (Judy) Arvidson of Cary, IL, Gary K. (Denise) Arvidson of Rockford, IL and Sheila K. (Tracy) Stenger of Rockton, IL.

A brunch grazing table will be available for everyone from 8 to 11 am during visitation with the Memorial Service starting at 11:30 am Saturday, October 7, 2023, all at the First Church of God, 1200 W Depoy Dr., Columbia City. Burial will take place later at the Arlington Memorial Cemetery in her hometown of Rockford, IL. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
