AnnaDean Schrader, 100 , formerly of Columbia City, died peacefully at 12:30 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2022, at Kingston at Dupont, Fort Wayne, where she was a resident for the past year.
Born May 27, 1921, in Columbia City, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Delmor V. and Cora Ethel (Reese) Mosher. Growing up in Columbia City, she completed elementary school at West Ward and graduated from Columbia City High School in 1939. She continued her education at International Business College, Fort Wayne.
On March 5, 1942, she married Paul W. Schrader. They made their home in Columbia City. After her husband's retirement, they moved to Naples, FL, where they lived for 23 years. Paul died on September 13, 1996. In 2001, AnnaDean moved to Fort Wayne.
A bookkeeper for her work career, she began at Weatherhead, Columbia City. From 1958 to 1978, she worked for the Linvill Clinic in Columbia City. During the couple's time in Florida, she worked for O'Shea's Restaurant in Marcos Island, FL, for three years then the Paddlewheel Restaurant in Naples for five years. She retired in 1989.
She enjoyed playing BINGO and belonged to a bridge group until 2018. She liked to needlepoint in her quiet time. She was a long-time member of the Grace Lutheran Church, Columbia City.
Surviving are her children, PaulaDean (George) Hertsel of Auburn, Sandra Schrader of Naples, FL, and Gay (Richard) Barnett of Allendale, MI; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Additionally, she was preceded in death by a brother, Glen U. Mosher, and sisters, Joy Schrader, Jean Benson, and Gayle Stayer.
The funeral service is noon Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home Columbia City. Burial is at the Eberhard Cemetery. Visitation is from 10 a.m. until the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Preferred memorials are to the American Heart Association.
