She was born on July 30, 1946, in Huntington, Indiana, a daughter of the late Wilbert John and Mary Dell (Emley) Snyder.  Growing up in Washington Twp., Whitley County, she completed Washington Center School and attended Columbia City Joint High School.  She later earned a GED.

After retiring, she continued working at Meijer in Warsaw.  She had a heart of gold, was a jokester and always had a smile for everyone.

She enjoyed Country Music and visited the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. At home, she liked to garden both flowers and vegetables and held a special fondness for her dogs and cats, who also shared a special bond. Betty and her husband enjoyed a game of chance, visiting the area casinos and sometimes venturing to Nevada.

Surviving is her husband of 23 years, William; a daughter, Deborah A. Wade of Warsaw; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a sister, Helen Buuck, and a brother, Robert Snyder of Tunker.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Penny Sue Hackworth, a son, Wilbert Brady Hackworth, and a sister, Kay Rose Koch.
