Birdie Mae Eizinger, 79, of Columbia City, passed away at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne at 3:39 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023.
Born on April 13, 1943, in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Malcolm and Emma (Webb) Brown. Growing up in Prestonsburg, she graduated from Prestonsburg High School.
On May 15, 1965 she married Gene Ousley. They had two daughters. Gene died on November 6, 1998. On December 9, 2006, she was united in marriage to Harold Arthur Eizinger. They made their first home in Albion, and then moved to Columbia City
She was a factory employee at United Technology and then Jomack Products in Warsaw.
She enjoyed watching Televangelist pastors and other religious shows. At home, she liked to garden both vegetables and flowers which often were eaten by the plentiful rabbits in the neighborhood.
Surviving is her husband, Harold; daughters, Sandy (Scott) Rindfuss of the upper peninsula of Michigan and Deborah (Ronald) Whited of Georgia; a stepdaughter, Valerie Constantine of Kendallville; and sisters, Ellen (Gary) Thornsbury and Lona Hyden both of Warsaw, Loujean Flannery and Edie Faye Brown both of Prestonburg; three grandchildren, Ariel J. Ousley, Garrett T. Ousley and Carl Parsons; two great grandchildren, Wyatt Montgomery and Winter-Rae M. Ousley.
A memorial gathering and service will be held at 2 pm April 2, 2023 with interment at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Pierceton at a later date.
Memorials in Birdie's honor are to the American Heart Association.
