Brenda Mae Waldenville , 77, of Columbia City, died peacefully in the company of family at 11:06 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2024 at her home.

Born on February 26, 1947, in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Wendall Bradley Watson and Elenor Mae (Brenner) Watson.  As a young girl the family moved to Canton, Ohio where she graduated from Timken High School in Canton in 1965.

On July 23, 1966, she married Harry "Bud" Waldenville.  They made their first home in Canton, OH moving to Auburn, IN in 1972.  In 1981, the couple moved to Columbia City.

She began her work career in the healthcare field, working as a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) at the former Alfran Nursing Home transitioning to Miller's.  She then worked for Seamco in South Whitley completing her work career at Dana PPG, Columbia City.

Through the years, she like to travel throughout the U.S and Canada.  Remaining active she took frequent walks, dancing to her favorite music, and caring for her wide range of furry pets.  She grew an annual flower garden until she was physically unable.  Time with family and the grandkids was always a joy.

Surviving is her husband of 57 years, "Bud"; two sons, Steve (Sandy) Waldenville and Cory Waldenville of North Webster; step-sons Randy Waldenville of Oceanside, CA, David (Denise) Waldenville of Indiana, PA and Kenneth (Linda) Waldenville of Adel, GA; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; six step grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren and a sister Connie Mae (Dean) Rice of Auburn.

Additionally, she was preceded in death by an infant brother.

Visitation is from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, with a funeral service at 6 p.m.

Memorials in Brenda's honor are to the Humane Society of Whitley County.
