Brian Lynn Cochran, 43, of Huntertown, passed away at noon on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Stillwater Hospice, Fort Wayne.

He was born on August 7, 1981, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, a son of Dennis Lee and Cindy Jo (Delong) Cochran. Brian went to Perry Hill Elementary School and attended Carroll High School.

Enjoying the sunshine and water, he moved to Florida. He last resided in Ellenton, FL, where he worked in golf cart sales. Since returning to the Fort Wayne area, he worked at Patriot Tires.

Brian enjoyed fishing, boating, and all things around the beach. Working as a DJ, he had a broad knowledge of songs and often used a song to express his feelings and sentiments with family and friends. An avid Colts fan, he followed their season and attended home games when possible. He liked to travel, especially in the Sunshine State.

He leaves behind his beloved daughter, Shyanne (Mark) Surdell of Fort Wayne; a stepdaughter, Alyssa (Jennifer) Oliver of Indianapolis; his mother, Cindy Cochran of Huntertown; grandchildren, Houston Surdell, Bentley Samaan, Lilly Moyer and Katie Moyer; half-brothers, Timothy (Lori) Deck of Albion and Shelby (Emily) Hull of Fort Wayne; and his aunt, Betty Cochran of Columbia City.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Lee Cochran.

The funeral service is at 1:00 p.m. Monday (March 17th) at Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Columbia City. Burial will be next to his father at the Fairview Cemetery in North Manchester. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time-of-service Monday at the funeral home.
