Obituary

Carlos Lorenzo Cordova, 35, of Fort Wayne, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.

Born on October 9, 1989, in Royal Oak, Michigan, he was a son of Wayne Francis Cordova and Barbara Jean (Elliott) Cordova.  Growing up in the Detroit area, he completed elementary school in Hazel Park, MI.  After the family moved to Columbia City, he attended Columbia City High School and obtained a GED in 2010.  Continuing his education, he took courses at Ivy Tech and was currently studying online with Western Governors University (WGU).

On October 3, 2024, he was united in marriage to Anna C. Waldeck.  They made their home in Fort Wayne.

For over five years, Carlos worked as a project manager at Parkview Regional Medical Center.

A proud and humble man, he always put the needs of his family and friends first.  He loved his daughters and his wife, cherishing the time he spent with them.  Fun-loving and adventurous, he was always the first to any family outing and was usually the instigator of water fights or other kid-friendly activities.  He enjoyed traveling, especially on cruise ships, and liked being outdoors.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Anna; his children Alexis Curry and Lauri Cordova; her children, Jada Waldeck and Cadence Carper; his parents, Wayne and Barbara Cordova; siblings, Maria Reed of Burton, MI, Stacy Ostrander of Davison, MI, Wayne Cordova II, Antonio (Hannah) Cordova, Chrystal Cordova, Melinda (Austin) Gorski, Virgil (Paige) Cordova, all of Columbia City and Manuel Cordova of South Whitley; his grandfather, Lee Sweet of Hazel Park, MI; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
