Charles E. "Chuck" Maley, 69, of Columbia City, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, October 24, 2025.

He was born on June 4, 1956, at the Luckey Hospital in Wolf Lake to Walt and Marcia Maley.

On July 27, 1974, Charles married Jo Ellen, and together they shared 51 years filled with love for their family.  Jo Ellen preceded him in death on June 27, 2025.

Charles retired from Dana Spicer Axle, where he dedicated many years of hard work and built lasting friendships.  After retirement, he enjoyed a life full of simple pleasures – mushroom hunting, attending races, tinkering, and traveling full-time with Jo Ellen by his side.

He was a proud and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Charles is survived by his children, Tonya (David) Swenson, Bryan (Torri) Maley, and Bethany (Dane) Doremus; and his grandchildren, Braiden (Ella) Maley, Camden (Charlotte) Maley, Aubrey (fiancé Jordan Quimby) Maley, Annika (Kameron) Eiler, McKinley (Breyden) Kirkdorffer, Stella Miller, Alex Maley, and Roxy Maley.  He was also blessed with a great-granddaughter, Hazel and Harper Maley, and a great-grandson, Cairo Maley.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no funeral service.  The family will hold a private memorial at a later date to celebrate his life and the love he shared with those closest to him.  Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
