Charles Edward Oliver, 74, of rural Columbia City, passed away at 7:46 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Stillwater Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

Born January 31, 1952, in Columbia City, he was the son of the late Carl Edwin and Hazel (Christman) Oliver. He grew up in Columbia Twp. and graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1970.

With the exception of a few years in Fort Wayne, Charles has been a resident of Columbia City and, since 1989, of Columbia Twp.  He worked for Dana Corporation in Fort Wayne, retiring with 30 years of service. He was a hobby farmer and always had an interest in farm equipment, both new and old. He spent his leisure time watching television and was a NASCAR fan.

Charles is survived by his two daughters, Heidi Oliver and Heather Oliver both of Columbia City, his caregiver, Jeanette Oliver, and his sister, Terri Stephenson of Columbia City.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Tier and Judy Hill-Boocher.

As per his wishes, there will not be any public services.  Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
