Chase Devin Vandewalker, 20, of Churubusco, Indiana, passed away at 3:04 p.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at his home.

Born on February 3, 2006, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he was the son of Shane Devin Vandewalker. Growing up in Churubusco, he graduated from T.R.O.Y. School in Columbia City.

Chase worked for McDonald’s and, more recently, at the Amazon distribution center in Fort Wayne.

Chase was a kind, loving kid who cared for those around him. He was fond of spending time outside at his grandparents’ house playing and caring for their animals. He especially enjoyed spending time with his cousins and driving them around in the golf cart. He enjoyed spending time with his friend’s playing basketball at the park, online gaming, and riding (wrecking) his bikes.

Chase is survived by his father, Shane Vandewalker of Churubusco; an aunt, Shuree (Shane) Claymiller of Churubusco; uncles, Shay Vandewalker and Shyle (Autumn) Vandewalker; grandparents, James and Marsha Vandewalker; and cousins, Merisa, Alyssa, and Mara.

He is preceded in death by his uncle, Shad Vandewalker, and his great-grandfather, Royce Weaver.

A memorial gathering is scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd from 4 to 7 p.m. at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
