Connie G. Rohrbach, 95, of Columbia City, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Millers at Oak Pointe.

Born on May 19, 1930, in Columbia City, Indiana, she was the daughter of Clarence Theodore & Bertha Opal (Myers) Grable. Growing up in the Columbia City area, she graduated from Columbia City High School in 1948.

On September 11, 1949, she was united in marriage to James W. Rohrbach. They made their home in the Columbia City area. James died February 25, 1996.

Connie worked at Dr. Heritier's office as a long-time office manager until his retirement. She also worked to help set up Dr. Dickmeyer's office and worked as the office manager. Helping others via Job Works was the final stop in her working career.

She was a long-time member of Community Bible Church and a lifetime member of Delta Theta Tau sorority. Connie served as a girl scout leader (leading 2 trips to Mexico), delivered Meals on Wheels, volunteered at the hospital, served on the YMCA board, and did many other volunteer activities. She was a recipient of the Whitley County Foundation Heart of Gold award.

She enjoyed playing bridge and was in many bridge clubs over the years. In the last few years, this transitioned to be a daily game of Uno with her friends at Oak Pointe. She loved to knit, read, socialize and travel. Connie also loved time with her grandchildren (and later great grandchildren) whether that was time at the lake, on vacations or just hanging out with them.

She is survived by her children, Kurt (Margaret) Rohrbach, Carrie (Brian) Waterson; grandchildren, Zachary Rohrbach, Timothy Rohrbach, Mariah Silket, Amber (Waterson) Woosley, Eric Rohrbach, Dave Ealy, Sarah Waterson and Daniel "DJ" Rohrbach; six great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Betty Grable.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard Eric "Rick" Rohrbach; brothers, Theodore "Ted" Grable and Rex Grable; sister, Edna Gay (Grable) Feist; sister-in-law, Eleanor Grable and brother-in-law, Richard "Booney" Feist.

The funeral Service is 3:00 p.m., Sunday (August 17th) at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.  Burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City. The visitation will be from 12 Noon until the service at the funeral home.

Memorials in Connie's honor are to Columbia City YMCA, Camp Whitley or Community Bible Church.
