Obituary

Curtis Allen Kelsey, 63, of South Whitley, died peacefully in the company of family at his home on 7:20 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2023.

Born in Whitley County, Indiana on July 23, 1959, he was the son of Keith Paul and Judy Ann (Koontz) Kelsey. He grew up in South Whitley attending South Whitley Elementary School and graduated from Whitko High School in 1977.  He continued his education at ITT Technical Institution and gained his Associate Degree.

Curt began his work career at Whitley Manufacturing and then CH Kraus Sheetmetal Corporation and finally Dirig Sheetmetal as a Project Manager and estimator.

Curt was a member of the Blackhawk Christian Golf Team, and the Georgetown Bowl.  He was also a "cuddler" in the NICU department at Lutheran hospital, bringing warmth and hope to many infants and their families.

He is survived by his mother, Judy; son Jeremy A. Kelsey; daughters, Valerie and Sophia Kelsey; five grandchildren, Sanai & Alexia Kelsey-Perkins, Justin Trosper Jr, Addison Trosper, Jeremiah Perkins; and one due in June; brother, Doug D. Kelsey and a sister, Deb K. Francis.

He was preceded in death by his father, Keith; brother, Brian Kelsey; and a daughter, Rachel Fowler.

Visitation is 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel.  Burial will be at a later date at South Whitley Cemetery.  The funeral service will at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials in Curt's honor are to Fort Wayne Rescue Mission.
