Obituary

Damion Reyes Estrada, 22, of rural Columbia City, died at 6:55 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, where he had been a patient since Tuesday.

Born on October 2, 2000, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he was a son of Jennifer Lynn (Hyser) Ison (Shaun Ison). A special needs child, he completed ten years of education at Whitko Schools.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed riding in fast cars, the louder the better, and Cam-Am off road side-by-sides. He attended area car shows and races with his family seeking the most audacious cars. At home, he enjoyed watching Nickelodeon's Blue's Clues and Sponge Bob Square Pants. With an insatiable appetite, his favorite food was somebody else's. He indelibly touched the lives of those around him. He will be missed.

Surviving are his parents, Jennifer and Shaun Ison of Columbia City; a brother, Jacob R. Hyser, and sister, Olivia B. Ison, both of Columbia City; maternal grandmother, Karen Hyser of South Whitley; paternal grandmother, Billie Jo Ison of North Manchester and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Damion was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Britt Hyser, Sr., and paternal grandfather, Mark Hoffman.

A private family service will be held at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.

Preferred memorials in Damion's honor are to the Angelman Syndrome Foundation.
