"Boots" Williams
Sep 11, 1956 — Jul 4, 2024
David Marion "Boots" Williams, 67, of Columbia City, died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home on Thursday, July 4, 2024.
Born on September 11, 1956, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he was the son of the late James M. and Carol Jean (Hawk) Williams. David completed Coesse school and graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1974.
He worked at International Harvester until he became disabled.
An avid biker, he enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and was a 40 year plus member of the Escorts Motorcycle Club. He was also an accomplished mechanic building race cars and rat rods.
A family man – he endeavored to be the best father and grandfather possible. He enjoyed time with the grandkids being the fun grandpa. He always held a special place in his heart for his Rottweiler dogs through the years. As he aged, a small dog became more manageable and he leaves behind his beloved Boston Terrier, Harley.
Surviving is his son, David M. Williams II of Greenwood, and a daughter, Montana Lycora Williams of Columbia City; grandchildren, Tarren Williams and Vincent Plain; a sister, Annette Willson of Columbia City; and his girlfriend, Kim Bassett of Fort Wayne.
David did not desire services. The arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
