David Lloyd Clark, 73, formerly of Albion, died at 3:55 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Ashton Creek Health and Rehabilitation, Fort Wayne, where he had been a resident since July 8th.

Born on August 1, 1948, in Champaign, Illinois, he was a son of the late John Flavious Clark and Mildred (Stoffle) Clark. The child of a U.S. Air Force serviceman, he began his schooling at Brize-Norton Air Force Base in England. After the family returned to Indiana, he graduated from South Whitley High School in 1966. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree at Indiana State University.

On August 11, 1981, he married Kathy Cohn. They made their first home in Colorado and later moved to Texas.

Developing a good work ethic from an early age, he did a variety of jobs during his teenage years. After college, he moved west and eventually became an area sales manager for PPG in the Texas region. After retiring, he located to Albion in 2014.

Spending his childhood on an Air Force Base in Great Britain, he developed a life-long interest in WWII history and aircraft, especially the bombers of the era. He studied U.S. History and enjoyed creative writing.

Living in the western states, he liked to fly fish for trout in area streams and rivers. A talented cook, he prepared gourmet meals for his family and friends. His pride and joy were his two daughters, Stephanie and Samantha, and granddaughter, Nayah.

Surviving is his wife Kathy, a step-daughter Stephanie L. Murphy of Arizona; daughter, Samantha J. Malone of New York; granddaughter, Nayah; and two sisters, Janet Arnold of Wolcottville and Beverly Clark of Las Vegas, NV.

Additionally, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Charles "Larry" Arnold, and a niece, Marrissa Kaye Arnold.

Keeping with David's wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
