Dawn J. Barr, of Columbia City, passed away at 10:50 p.m. on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Coventry Meadows, Fort Wayne.

Born on February 13, 1956, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Mary (Prince) Latham. Growing up in Fort Wayne, she graduated from North Side High School in 1974.  She continued her education, attending Ivy Tech.

On August 19, 1979, she married Michael Paul Barr. They made their home at Bear Lake in Noble County, raising five children.  Michael died on March 5, 1995.  Since 2012, Dawn has resided in Columbia City.

In addition to being a homemaker raising the children, Dawn worked as a Mold Operator at Precision Plastics for nine years.  She enjoyed crafting in her spare time, painting, and crocheting.

Dawn is survived by her five children, Michael (Ashley) Barr, Jr. of Missouri, Benjamin (Micki) Barr of Fort Wayne, James Barr of  South Bend, Amber Barr of Fort Wayne, and Ethan (Alexandra) Barr of Fort Wayne, as well as her 15 grandchildren.

As per Dawn's wishes, there will be no Services. Arrangements are by Smith & Son's Funeral Home.
