Deanna Marie Davenport , 64, of Warsaw, formerly of Columbia City, passed away at 12:33 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2025, at Parkview Kosciusko Hospital in Warsaw.

Born on June 26, 1960, in LaSalle, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late Calvin and Esther (Delgado) Davenport.  She attended high school in Atlanta, Georgia.

In addition to being a mother, she worked for over 20 years as an Optician's assistant, fitting glasses and performing standard eye tests.  For the past 20 years, Deanna has lived in Columbia City and moved to Warsaw about a year ago.

Enjoying the outdoors, she liked to garden, especially flowers, and in her younger years, she rode her horse, Pico, Tika, and then Major.  She delighted in a leisurely stroll through the woods or just being in the sun.  Competitive and good-humored, she reveled in shooting pool at the local tavern.  She liked riding motorcycles, especially Harley-Davidsons and adored her pit-bull mix dog, RJ, who survives.

Surviving are her sisters, Gloria (Terry) Kueker of Racine, WI, Sandra Davenport of Charlotte, TN, and Debra Ellis of Arizona; brothers, Isaac (Delora) Davenport of Carol Springs, IL, Robert (Marlo) Davenport of Charlotte, TN and Kevin (Erika) Davenport of Fort Leavenworth, KS; and her close friends, Doris Jean Pence, and Leah Pence Kilgore both of Columbia City.

The funeral service is at 2 p.m. Saturday (January 25th) at the Ormas Baptist Church, 8962 N 300 W, Columbia City, IN 46725.  Burial is at the Thorn Cemetery.  Visitation is from 12 noon until the service at the church.  Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
