Delores A. Maloy, 89, of Columbia City, passed away at 9:05 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Miller's at Oak Pointe, Columbia City, where she had been for the past several years.

Born on July 27, 1935, in North Manchester, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Zelma (Blocher) Fingerle. Growing up in the Sidney area, she graduated from Sidney High School in 1953.

On October 5, 1957, Delores was united in marriage to Jerry Lee Maloy. They made their first home in the Sidney area, moving to Fort Wayne. In 1967, they moved to rural Columbia City. Jerry died on September 9, 1978.

She was a full-time homemaker raising four children. Delores enjoyed gardening, both flowers and vegetables. She is remembered for her delicious, home-cooked meals and for always enjoying her time spent with family. She was a member of the Columbia City Church of the Brethren.

She leaves behind her children, Kimra (Kevin) Wilkinson of Goose Lake, Vicki (Danny) Gwinn of Greenwood, SC, and Samuel Maloy of Columbia City; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Devon (Sylvia) Fingerle of Sarasota, FL.

Additionally, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Dawn Esterline; brothers, Denver and Dallas Fingerle; and a daughter-in-law, Kelly Maloy.

A memorial service will be held at the Columbia City Church of the Brethren at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025 with burial to follow at the South Whitley Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
