Dennis John Raimo, 79, of Silver Lake, died peacefully at 12:15 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

Born July 25, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, he was a son of the late Dennis and Rosemary (Militello) Raimo.  Growing up in Chicago he graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1960.

Living the majority of his adult life in the Chicagoland area, where he worked for Oscar Mayer and then Burns Security.  He last lived in Aurora, IL moving to Silver Lake, IN in 2008.

Fashion conscious, he enjoyed shopping for and wearing the latest men's clothing styles. He like to travel with his favorite destination being Disneyland in Florida.  His other destinations included Gatlinburg, TN, Topsail, NC, and a biennial family reunion in Kentucky where he delighted in the Chinese buffet.

He was a diehard Chicago Bears fan making time to watch every game.  He collected Swarovski crystal figurines.

Surviving are two sons, Dennis Raimo III and Mark Raimo both of Illinois; his companion of ten years, Connie D. Trout of Silver Lake; her children, Kendra C. (Matt) Payton of Fort Wayne and Joshua Trout of KY; Connie's grandchildren, Liza (Doug) Payton, Mikaela Payton and Jaeden Payton; and a great- grandchild Ember Payton.

The funeral service is 5 p.m. Sunday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Visitation in 2 p.m. Sunday until the service at the funeral home.
