Doris Mae Boggs , 95, of Columbia City, died peacefully at 10:45 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Miller's at Oak Pointe, Columbia City.

Born on November 25, 1927, in Whitley County, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Marie (Jagger) Deeter. She completed elementary at Troy Center School and graduated from Larwill High School.

On August 10, 1946, she married Robert H. Boggs. In 1956, the couple moved to Warsaw until 1970, when they moved to Columbia City. After 68 years of marriage, Robert died on April 5, 2015.

Initially, a full-time homemaker raising the couple's four children, she joined Schrader Real Estate and Auction Company in 1969. She became the office manager retiring in 1989 with 20 years of service.

She was a member of the First Church of God. An accomplished seamstress, she liked to sew, bake and encourage youth to be their best.

Surviving are her children, Barbara Kay (David) Rink of Kokomo, Gary A. (Rachel) Boggs of Columbia City, Marcia (Timothy) Miller of Uniontown, OH, and Rhonda (Philip) DeLong of Fort Wayne; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a sister, Anna Johnson.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Dwight and Ansel Deeter; and sisters, Lenore Webster and Marjorie Sewell.

A private family funeral service will be held at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial is at the South Park Cemetery.
