Erma Marie Kreider, 82, of Greencastle. passed away at 8:50 a.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at The Waters of Greencastle.

Born on November 2, 1943, in Whitley County, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Olga Marie (Wise) Slesman. Growing up in South Whitley, she attended South Whitley High School and later earned certification as a Diamontologist.

On June 18, 1961, she married Joe A. Kreider. They made their home in South Whitley, Huntington, Union, OH, Grayson, KY, Tomkinsville, KY, Fort Wayne, and Coatesville. After Joe died on October 17, 2014, Erma made her home in Cloverdale, then Greencastle.

In addition to raising a daughter, Erma worked with her husband at their Ben Franklin store in Grayson, KY, helped to establish J & E Carpet Cleaning with Joe, worked for Fox Jewelry for 10 years, and Kay Jewelers in Fort Wayne for 15 years.

Erma enjoyed hosting friends and relatives at her home for a meal and socializing. In her earlier years, she played golf, and in her later years, she enjoyed reading romance novels and assembling jigsaw puzzles.

Erma is survived by her daughter, Tara M. Angermeier of Cloverdale, and granddaughters, Madison Angermeier and Alexandra Angermeier.

She is preceded in death by a son, Todd Kreider, and sisters, Nancy Judy and Shelia Dillard.

She will be inurned at South Whitley Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley.
