Estella Delight Fitzgerald, 83, of Fort Wayne, died at 8:55 p.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Heritage Park in Fort Wayne.

Born in Van Buren, Michigan on June 26, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Alva H. and Mary L. (Evans) Claxton.

On March 24, 1956 she was united in marriage to Edward Warren Fitzgerald.  Edward died in October of 2017.

Estella was a cook at Homestead High School and then she was a driver and cook at Indiana Auto Auctions until 2003.

Surviving are her daughters, Linda A. Rush of West Milton, Ohio, Carol D. Mayo and Patricia L. Jackson both of Fort Wayne; step-grandchildren Wendy Busch of Dayton Ohio, Nikki Manson, and Travis (Megan) Rush both of Celina, Ohio; grandchildren; Daniel Fitzgerald, Lee Fitzgerald and Christina Jackson; and numerous Great Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by sons, Tony & Jerry Fitzgerald.

As per Estella's wishes, there will be no services.  A burial will take place at a later date in South Park Cemetery.

Memorials is Estella's honor are to Linda Rush POA at 51 Teri Drive, Milton OH to help cover the cost of a joint headstone for Edward and Estelle.
