Garrett Douglas Lamboley , 23, of South Whitley, died as a result of a vehicle accident, Thursday evening August 17, 2023, on State Road 5 south of Larwill, when his pickup truck was struck by another vehicle.

Born in Columbia City, Indiana, on February 10, 2000, he was a son of Douglas E. and Lori (Smith) Lamboley.  Growing up in South Whitley he completed South Whitley Elementary School and attended Whitko High School. While at school, he played on the football team and was active in Boy Scouts of America.  He continued his education becoming a certified welder.

For the past 5 years, he has been employed by Eel River Iron Works, North Manchester as a certified welder.

Fun loving, he liked to laugh and smile especially when hanging with friends.  Enjoying the outdoors, he rode 4-wheelers, fished, and hunted both squirrel and deer.  Between times, he could be found working on his truck or 4-wheeler preparing for the next adventure.

Surviving is his father, Doug (Connie Severt) Lamboley of Columbia City; his mother, Lori Lamboley of South Whitley; a brother Drew Robinson of Columbia City; paternal grandmother, Shirley Lamboley of Columbia City; maternal grandmother, Diana Raver of Columbia City and maternal grandfather, Herman (Jan) Smith of Columbia City.

He was preceded in death by sisters, Miranda Dimmick and Bethany Lamboley; paternal grandfather, Eugene Lamboley; and a close family friend Kenny Keegan.

The funeral service is 3 p.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley.  Burial is at the South Whitley Cemetery.  Visitation is 11 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
