Gloria Ann Van Holten , 90, of Columbia City, IN, passed away at 10:45 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2025, at Miller's at Oak Pointe, Columbia City.
Born on July 28, 1935, in Yoder, IN, she was a daughter of the late Oliver and Mary (Harbor) Landstoffer. Growing up near Roanoke, she graduated from Roanoke High School in 1953.
On October 7, 1960, she married James Wilber Van Holten, raising five children. The couple divorced in 1983. James died on January 19, 2022.
In addition to being a homemaker and raising the children, Gloria worked for United Technologies and Dana Corporation until age 72.
She was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, Columbia City.
Surviving are her children, Michele (Scott) Ewing of Albion, Mark Van Holten of Dry Ridge, KY, Marla (Scott) Nisbet of Destin, FL, Michael Van Holten of Columbia City, and Maria McKinley of Winona Lake; and eight grandchildren.
Additionally, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Inez Gill, Eileen Herber, Rose Goodman, and Connie Schmitt; and her infant brothers, Harry and Neil Landstoffer.
A Mass of Christian Burial is at 11 a.m. Friday (Jan 30th) at St Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 315 S Line St., Columbia City, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at the Catholic Cemetery, Roanoke at a later date. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday (Jan 29th) at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
Memorials in Gloria's honor are to St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church.
