Greg William Flory , 67, of rural Albion, died peacefully in the company of family at his home at 12:50 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2024.

Born on May 19, 1957, to the late John W. and Lorene Mae (Dominy) Flory, he grew up on a farm in Noble County.  He completed Wolf Lake Elementary School and graduated from Central Noble High School in 1975.

On June 25, 1977, he married Candace Ann Pence.  They made their home on a farm in Noble County, raising two children.

From early childhood, he became passionate about farming and caring for, and maintaining a dairy herd.  Dairy farming became his life-long vocation, from which he never wavered, growing his herd to over 300 cows.  Establishing long-term relations with his milk buyers by providing them consistent high-quality product, he worked with only two in his over fifty years of dairy farming.

When not caring for his farm and dairy cattle, he liked to watch NBA Basketball and participate in cheerful banter with his kids and friends.  Through the years, he was able to travel with his wife throughout the United States, including Alaska and Hawaii.  They had taken several cruises passing through the Panama Canal.

He leaves behind his beloved wife of 47 years, Candy; a daughter, Jennifer (Troy Tracy) Flory, and a son, Eric (Kirby) Flory, both of Albion; grandchildren, Evan, Easton, and Emmersyn; and a sister, Patricia (Ralph) Butler of Albion.

Additionally, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ginger Reichard.

Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 13th, at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.  The funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 14th, at the funeral home.  Burial is at the Thorn Cemetery at Ormas.

Memorials in Greg's honor are to the Central Noble Chapter of the Future Farmers of America (FFA).
