James Anderson Bedwell, 75, of Columbia City, died peacefully at Parkview Randallia at 5:50 p.m. Sunday, October 10, 2022.

Born on September 24, 1947, in Blackford County, Indiana, he was a son of the late James Anderson and Helen (Cooley) Bedwell.  Growing up in the Hartford City area, he graduated from Hartford City High School in 1965.

On December 5, 1966, he entered the U.S. Army.  Serving at Fort Benning, GA, he was an infantryman with a parachutist badge.  He was honorably discharged May 25, 1967.

On July 1, 1971, he married Connie S. Fisher.  They always made their home in Loon Lake area of Columbia City.

Jim worked at Buart Engineering as a machinist until his retirement.

Surviving is his loving wife, Connie; son, Joel A. (Sandy) Bedwell of Fort Myers, FL; two grandchildren, Hunter Bedwell and Christian Bedwell.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Doug Bedwell.
