Obituary

James Lee Rowland, 61 of North Manchester, died peacefully at his home at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022.

Born on June 30, 1961, in Warsaw, Indiana, he was a son of the late Duane and Mary (Jontz) Rowland. Growing up in Silver Lake and South Whitley areas, he graduated from Whitko High School in 1979.

On April 22, 1983, he married the love of his life, Kathleen Sue Bradley. They made their home in rural North Manchester.

With a passion for farming, he owned and operated Rowland Repair, LLC, repairing agricultural equipment. When not repairing farm equipment, he operated it with his faithful dog – Belle, by his side. Preparing the soil, planting, harvesting, and everything in between a farmer's work is never done.

He was a family man, who enjoyed his time goofing off with his grandkids or taking trips to the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee with his wife. Christmas presents will not be the same without the infamous "Rowland Wrap Job." He has left a void in the hearts of his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife of 39 years, Kathleen; children, Ashley L. Slone of Goshen, Chelsey K. (Corey) Spangle of Silver Lake, and Trevor J. (Jennifer) Rowland of Warsaw; grandchildren, Keelan, Brecken, Brooklin, Henley, and Maddison; brothers, Daniel (Julia) Rowland of South Whitley and Michael (Ginny) Rowland of Columbia City.

Additionally, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kortana Rayne.

Keeping with James' desire, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
