Jana L. Shellman, 83, died peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Majestic Care, West Allen in Fort Wayne.

She was born February 12, 1941, in South Whitley, Indiana a daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Ummel) Bristow.  She grew up on a farm near South Whitley and she graduated from Whitley High School in 1959. She had also lived in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois and Huntington Beach and Orange County in Southern California.

She worked at several lawyers' offices, specializing in criminal law for over 40 years.

Her experiences took her in the direction of becoming a Life Coach, writing and teaching since the early 70's.  Jana formed a small publishing company in the 90's and published "The Wish Factory." Along with many other adventures, she actually jumped out of an airplane into the California desert to cure her fear of heights!

She leaves behind her only son, Zach Shellman of South Whitley.

As per Jana's wishes, there will be no services.

Memorials in Jana's honor are to final expenses in care of Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
