Janet M. Dalton, 86, formerly of Columbia City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Wings of Hope Hospice in Allegan, Michigan.

Born on December 8, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois, she was a daughter of the late John and Cecile (Rock) Lulling.  She graduated from Morton High School in 1956.

Janet worked at several office jobs and retired after several years from the Illinois General Assembly's Minority Leaders office as a receptionist.

On June 19, 1962 she married Richard Henry "Dick" Dalton.  They made their home in the Chicago area, then moving to Columbia City. Richard died November 11, 2021.

Janet enjoyed playing word games with her family and friends.  She also liked reading about the Catholic faith and following current events on the news.

Surviving are her sons; Richard P. (Linda) Dalton of Downers Grove, IL, Michael J. (Denise Rochon) Dalton of Otsego, MI, Steven G. (Sheila) Dalton of Naperville, IL, and Philip D. (Lisa) Dalton of East Northport, NY; grandchildren, Ryan, Erin, Eli, Colin, Sean and Parker; great grandchild, Kiera.

Additionally, she was preceded in death by a brother, John "Jack" Lulling.

The funeral service is at 12 Noon, Thursday, April 24th at St. Paul of the Cross, Catholic Church, 315 S. Line Street, Columbia City.  Burial is at the Catholic section of Greenhill Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 am until the service at the church.
