John Henry Schwartz, 81, of Cleveland Township, Whitley County, died Saturday evening, February 3, 2024, at his home.

John Henry was born November 26, 1942, in New Haven, IN, a son of the late David and Anna (Miller) Schwartz.

He married Margaret Schwartz on September 13, 1962. They made their home in Cleveland Township since 1971. Margaret died on June 26, 2022.

Surviving are his children, James (Sheila) Schwartz, David (Mary) Schwartz, Amanda (Amos) Yoder, Andrew (Eileen) Schwartz, Victor (Noami) Schwartz, Sarah (Noah) Hilty, Rebecca (Eddie) Miller, Annamae (Ernie) Miller, Wilma (Lavern) Steury; John Henry (Laura) Schwartz; 58 grandchildren and 65 great grandchildren; siblings; Clara (Jesse) Graber, Michael (Margaret) Schwartz, Rosa (Jonas) Zehr, Sarah (Edwin) Schmucker, Amos (Emma) Schwartz, Mary (Jacob) Miller, Anna (Jacob) Schwartz, Susan (Joe) Steury and David (Bernice) Schwartz.

Additionally, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; parents, David & Anna Schwartz; brothers, Reuben Schwartz and Samuel Schwartz; sister, Rosie Zehr; grandson, Victor J. Schwartz; great grandchildren, Seth Alan Schmucker, Sarah Graber, Hannah Graber and Alan Schwartz.

Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the Schwartz residence 3411 S. 500 W., South Whitley. The funeral service is 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Schwartz residence with burial at the Cleveland Twp. Amish Cemetery.
