Judy Ann Rucker , 74, of rural Albion, passed away at 1:10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, where she had been a patient since June 14th.
Born on March 13, 1951, in Wabash County, she was a daughter of the late Billy and Betty (Smith) Bunch. Growing up in Wabash County, she graduated from North Manchester High School in 1969.
In August of 1969, Judy was united in marriage to William B. Farner, Jr. They made their home in North Manchester, raising two sons. Bill died on April 27, 1980. On November 24, 1982, she married Michael E. Rucker. They made their home in Largo and then moved to Columbia City. From 1999 until 2012, they lived in Sevierville, TN. Health issues prompted their return to the area, allowing them to be closer to their family. They settled in rural Albion. Michael passed away on March 1, 2013.
In addition to being a homemaker, Judy worked for Alcoils for 20 years, retiring in 1999 due to her failing sight.
She enjoyed time with the grandkids and liked to read. When her eyesight diminished, she listened to audiobooks.
Surviving are her sons, Jeffery Farner of Albion and Bryan (Audra) Farner of Columbia City; grandchildren, Amanda Farner, Alisha (Kyler) Likes, Matthew (Savannah) Farner, William (Seven) Farner, Hali (John) Tabor, Beau Marsh, and Whitney (Gavin) Powell; eight great-grandchildren; and sisters, Karen Stoldt of Wabash and Toni Vachon of New Haven.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3rd at Falls Cemetery, 725 Falls Ave, Wabash. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
Memorials in Judy's honor are to the National Federation of the Blind.
