Katherine Lentchner Gould, 69, of South Whitley, died peacefully at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Born December 26, 1951, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of Harry and Joanne (Bricker) Lentchner.  Growing up in Pennsylvania, she graduated from Mount Lebanon High School in 1969.  She continued her education at Tulsa University completing her Bachelor's and furthering her education in California to a Master's degree.

On September 6, 2014, she married Robert J. Gould.  They have always made their home in South Whitley.

Katherine was a counselor at Park Center in Fort Wayne.  She was also the co-owner of Pizza Knight.  Her passion was assisting people in the mental health field.

She really enjoyed reading and was an avid gamer.  Katherine was very involved in the community and was an animal lover, especially cats.  She also had fun raising goats, and her involvement with Joe in local 4H.

She valued all her close relationships and her South Whitley friends and her love for the down-home lifestyle she led.

Surviving is her husband of seven years, Bob; son, Joseph Knight of Duck, NC; brothers, David (Camille) Lentchner of Tom Rivers, NJ and Stephen "Beau" (Elizabeth) Lentchner of Nashville, TN; and two grandchildren. She has a large family of cousins, nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by sister, Lillian Lentchner; aunt and uncle, Harry and Jean Nelson.

The memorial service is 8 p.m. Monday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. Burial will be at a later date in Pittsburgh. Visitation will be from 6p.m. until the service at the funeral home.

Preferred memorials are to the Humane Society of Whitley County or the National Kidney Foundation.
