Kathryn A. Knisely, 79, of Columbia City, Indiana, died on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at 2:45 a.m. at Majestic Care West Allen in Fort Wayne.

She was born in Warsaw, Indiana on December 19, 1943, a daughter of Ralph and Betty (Scott) Knecht.  She attended Columbia City Schools.

Kathryn worked at Columbia City nursing home, Opportunity Center and Meadowbrook Manor before working at Whitley County Memorial Hospital as a nursing assistant.

She enjoyed needlepoint and tending her flowers.  She liked photography and travelled all over the Great Lakes area to take photographs of the lighthouses. Her daughters enjoyed sharing these memories with her through the wonderful photos.

She is survived by her daughters, Denise R. Knisely of Kimmell and Sherri L. Knisely of Kendallville; a grandson, Adam L. Knisely of Kendallville; brothers, Benjamin (Gina) Knecht and James Knecht both of Columbia City; sisters, Virginia Fulton of Columbia City and Sarah (Bob) Riley of South Whitley.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Knecht.

As per Kathryn's request, there will be no services.  A burial at Thorn Cemetery will be at a later date.
