Kelly R. Hochstetler, 57, of Pierceton, died at 6:49 p.m. Saturday, January 1, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, where she was admitted on December 13th.

Born May 8, 1964, in Alliance, Ohio, she was a daughter of James Vincent and Caroline Sue (Zachary) Davenport. Growing up in the Coesse area, she graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1982.

She had worked for Precision Plastics in Columbia City for ten years before joining the family's United Oil – Marathon Station in Pierceton, where she had 16 years of service.

She was a Star Wars fan and liked collecting crystal rocks. Emerald was her birthstone and favorite crystal rock.  She enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays and quiet time reading her favorite book. When her granddaughter came along, she became the focus of her life.

Surviving is a daughter Samantha Lee Love of Pierceton; a granddaughter, Shadow Rose Love; her mother, Caroline Sue Gardner of Pierceton; brothers James Davenport of Oregon, Dennis (Teresa) Davenport of Oklahoma, Scott (Pam) Gardner of Tennessee, Terry (Felisity) Gardner of South Whitley; step-siblings David (Cathy) Gardner of Columbia City, and Diane (Dennis) Sheets of Laud.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Davenport; step-father Robert Gardner and a sister-in-law Faith Davenport.

Keeping with Kelly's wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
