Obituary

Ken William Creech, 63, of Columbia City, died at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at Parkview Randallia in Fort Wayne, where he had been a patient for the past three weeks.

Born May 18, 1958, in Columbia City, Indiana, he was a son of the late William P. and Jean V. (Cramer) Creech. He completed elementary at Marshall Memorial School and graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1976.

On September 17, 2021, he married his girlfriend and companion of 35 years, Lisa M. Fowler.

Employed by the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) Fort Wayne, he was a heavy equipment operator for over 38 years.

Enjoying the outdoors, he liked gardening and caring for his property. In season, Ken would hunt deer and squirrels, and fish whenever possible. Throughout his life, he had many large and small breed dogs. He leaves behind his three boxers, three French bulldogs, and a mastiff.

He is survived by his companion and wife, Lisa; son, Derrek (Whitney) Link of New Haven; step-sons Jeffery Dyer of Fort Wayne and Michael (Michelle) Dyer of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; brothers Dennis (Ester) Creech of Columbia City, Rick (Diana) Creech of Leesburg, Jackie Herbert of Columbia City, and Larry (Liane) Creech of Columbia City.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
