Kenneth Gene Wince , 72, of rural Roanoke passed away at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, September 3. 2023 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.

Born on April 5, 1951, in Whitley County, Indiana, he was the only son of the late Harold and Treva (Juillerat) Wince. Growing up in Jefferson Twp., Whitley County, he graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1970.

For the majority of his adult life, he had lived on the family homestead in Jefferson Twp.

He had worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) and continued to keep busy with various jobs throughout the area.

An avid golfer, he participated in the local leagues.  He enjoyed shooting sports and followed IU Hoosier Basketball.

Surviving are his cousins, Victor (Kim) Juillerat, Van (Kathy) Juillerat, and John Juillerat, all of Columbia City and his beloved cats.

Additionally, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Marilyn Wince.

The funeral service is 3 p.m. Monday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial is beside his parents at the Jefferson Chapel Cemetery.  Visitation is from 1 p.m. until the service Monday at the funeral home.
