Linda Darlene Lundblad, 82, of Columbia City, IN, died peacefully in the company of family at 11:15 p.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at her home.
Born on March 30, 1943, in Kendallville, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Mary (Carmin) Kitson. Growing up in LaOtto, the family then moved to Whitley County, where she graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1961.
On June 19, 1971, she married Phillip L. Lundblad. They made their home in Columbia City, raising three children. Phillip died on August 6, 2012.
Linda worked at the Churubusco Bureau of Motor Vehicles for five years before becoming a stay-at-home mom, managing the household and raising the kids.
She was a member of Sugar Creek Fellowship Church of the Nazarene in Tunker, the Whitley County Genealogical Society, and American Legion Post 98 Auxiliary.
In her senior years, she continued her genealogy research and enjoyed reading, especially a good romance novel.
She is survived by her children, Jackie (Jeff) Norris of Grand Rapids, MI. Gary (Marla) Lundblad of Larwill, and Roger (Tabitha) Lundblad of Columbia City; grandchildren, Zachary (Erica) Norris, Lindsey (Corey) Dilbert, David (Alycia) Lundblad, Steven Lundblad, Drake (Saori) Lundblad, and Hailee (Telly) Varga; great-grandchildren, Claire, Garyson, Corey, Jr., Lincoln, and Thomas James; and a sister Dianna Ewing of Columbia City.
Visitation is 4 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (Feb 4th) at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, with the funeral service to begin at 6:30 p.m. Linda will be inurned with her husband at the Oak Wood Cemetery, Warsaw, at a later date.
Memorials in Linda's honor are to the Sugar Creek Fellowship Church of the Nazarene.
