Linda Sue Tincher , 63, formerly of South Whitley, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Thursday, December 7, 2023, at 4:11 p.m. as EMS was taking her to Goshen Hospital.

Born on December 5, 1960, she had just celebrated her 63rd birthday.  Born to the late Jack B. and Donna (Wendel) Thomson at Whitley County Memorial Hospital in Columbia City, she grew up in South Whitley.  After completing South Whitley Elementary School, she graduated from Whitko High School in 1979.

She married Stephen R. Tincher on October 13, 2018. Steve died on February 17, 2021.  Recently, Linda became engaged to Jeff L. Ladig, moving to the Kimmell area.

Linda worked for the Columbia City Post & Mail in the advertising department for over ten years. Previously, she worked for the South Whitley Tribune and was a receptionist at Dr. Hanus medical practice in South Whitley.

Friendly and outgoing, Linda enjoyed being with friends and family.  With a flair for decorating, she adorned her home for the various holidays throughout the year.  In the summer, she could be found outside growing and tending to the flowers surrounding her property.  She adored animals, leaving behind her dog Petey.

She is survived by her fiancé, Jeff L. Ladig, and his children, Amanda (Kyle Morris) Ladig and Zane (Ashley) Ladig; and her brothers J. Bradley Thomson of South Whitley and David D. (Sheri) Thomson of Fremont.

Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.  She will be laid to rest beside her parents at the South Whitley cemetery at a later date.

Memorials in Linda's honor are to the Humane Society of Whitley County.
