Obituary

Born 9/23/1929 in Elwood Indiana to Fontella Garmin and Harry Leroy Poynter. Married to Arthur C. Fisher (deceased), on November 19th, 1957 in Elwood Indiana. She is predeceased by her parents and brothers, Harry and Bob Poynter.

Madonna was a humble, sweet woman who tried to get along with everyone. As a child of the depression she never wanted to cause anyone any trouble and we were told that quite often! As a young girl she was crazy about horses and at 5'2" was dwarfed by them. We often talked fondly about those days.

She loved her family so much and tried to always be there for everyone. She spent most of her life in Indiana but moved to Washington State in 2013, where we had many new adventures! She loved to go to different restaurants, musicals, and doll up for the Downton Abbey Teas at the Meeker Mansion in Puyallup, with her daughter Sally and many good friends. She looked forward to her sister Sharon calling her every Saturday night – as she had promised when she left Indiana. With Sherry on the line – Mom did not have to do much talking, but she loved just listening to her adventures back in Indiana!

Her health was precarious after breaking a hip in 2014, but her sweet disposition never faltered and was obvious to all until her death. We are so grateful for the loving care she received from her caretakers at Sunny Meadows and Carters Place till the end. We especially appreciated the kindness and love that Darcel, Carrie, Heather, Patrick and Lori gave to Mom. After moving to Washington, she became a Seahawks fan and spent many Sunday's hanging out with best friend Darlene, other residents and her caregivers cheering on her favorite team!

Left to grieve are Sally Boudreau (Thomas) of Tacoma, Terri Winch and William Fisher (Tana) of Atoka Tn. Grandchildren include Damian (San Francisco), Brandon Boudreau (Jessica) of Olympia, Wa., Anna (Ryan) Phillips of Columbia City, In., Shelby and Lacey George of Atoka Tn., Billy (Cindy) Fisher of Harriman TN; Chelsea (Freddy) Threlkeid of Munford Tn. and Zachary Fisher of Manchester, In. Great Grandchildren include Ava and Owen Boudreau, Nevaeh, Hayden and Andrew Fisher, and Matthew, Preston, and Brylee Threlkeid. Sisters Sharon (Ron) Wilson of Elwood In (now deceased), Joyce of Elwood In (now deceased). and honorary sister Irene Poynter of Columbia City, In. Mom was predeceased in death by beloved son Mark Allan Fisher in 2014.

We will miss this sweet lady so very much, but we know her pain is gone, and she is in a happier place now. Mom will be interred at date not yet decided with her late husband, Arthur in Columbia City In. May she rest in peace.

There will be a small gathering at the cremation burial.
