Mark Alan Clark, 65, of South Whitley, passed away at 4:35 a.m. on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Parkview Randallia Hospital, Fort Wayne.
Born on June 11, 1959, in Angola, Indiana, he was a son of the late Howard F. and Barbara A.(Shipley) Clark. Growing up in Walkerton and South Whitley, Mark graduated from Whitko High School in 1978.
He began his work career at Sunny Side Farms of Mentone. Later, he was employed by Whitley Mfg., South Whitley, and then Dairy Queen in Columbia City.
He enjoyed fishing the area lakes until mobility became an issue. He then became a fervent fan of Star Wars and Star Trek. An avid Chicago Cubs fan, he followed their games through the season. He liked communicating with friends and fellow enthusiasts on the Citizens Band radio. Recently, he was honored as the prom king at the Waters Nursing Home in Columbia City, uplifting his spirit and leaving him with a big, kind heart toward others.
Surviving is his daughter, Shawn (Robert) Love of Columbia City; grandchildren, Raeanna Jackson and Elijah Love; brothers, Jim Clark of Indianapolis and Christopher (Terri) Clark of Avilla; step-siblings, Mark (Joyce) Hofer of Goshen, Michael Hofer of Fort Wayne, and Martin "Herb" (Tammy) Hofer of Valparaiso; nieces and nephews, Melissa (Josh) Ledford, Zachary (Becki) McCue, Seth Miller, Madison (Noah) Shepherd, Mariah (Ethan) Lash, Cassidy Clark, Cordell Hofer, Alexander Hofer, Dominic Hofer, Stephanie (Clay) Kennerk, Ella Hofer, Katharine Hofer, John Hofer, Matthew Hofer, Eliana Clark, Ryan Ciolkos, David Ciolkos, and Abriel Clark; uncles, Michael (Tina) Ciolkos of Angola and Thomas (Jill) Schee of Westby, WI, an uncle-in-law, Nelson Langefeld of Cincinnati, OH; and cousins, Craig (Jean) Clark, Duane (Julie) Clark.
Visitation is from 11 a.m. Saturday (December 14th) Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City, with a combined service for Mark and his mother, Barbara Hofer, at 1 p.m. Both will be interred at the South Whitley Cemetery.
Memorials in Mark's honor are to the Eberhard Lutheran Church.
