Marsha Jolene Mack , 85, of Big Lake, passed away at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the Village at Pine Valley, Fort Wayne.

She was born on February 16, 1939, in Monroeville, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Vanbuskirk) Clem.  Growing up in Monroeville, she graduated from Monroeville High School in 1957.

On October 12, 1957, she married Gerry W. Mack. They made their first home in Monroeville. As their parents had a cottage on Big Lake, the couple purchased a house at Big Lake and moved there in 1977, raising five children. Gerry died on August 12, 1993.

In addition to being a full-time homemaker, Marsha worked as a teacher's aide and, in her later years, an antique store clerk.  Being a close-knit family, she opened her home to her children's friends who needed a safe harbor and a structured family setting.

She enjoyed collecting antiques, knitting blankets for the grandkids, and selling them at area bazaars. She liked Dixieland Jazz and living at the lake, water sports.

Surviving is her daughter, Cari Shoda of Columbia City; grandchildren, Kelly Rolf, Nick Rolf, Tony Mack, Tyler Mack, Kaley Schoeph, Jake Schoeph, and Tori Klein; a brother, Max (Diane) Clem of Hoagland; and a sister, Myra (John) Anderson of New Haven.

She was preceded in death by daughters Lori Mack and Juli Mack Fenton and sons Aaron Mack and John Mack.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday (July 6th) at the Monroeville Cemetery in Monroeville.  Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.

Memorials in Marsha's honor are to St Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
