Mathew Garth Ambrose, 63, of rural South Whitley, died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home on Tuesday, June 11, 2024.

Born on December 1, 1960, at the Whitley County Memorial Hospital, Columbia City, Indiana, he was a son of the late Forest Eugene and Rebecca (Brunson) Ambrose.  Growing up in the Pierceton area, he completed Pierceton Elementary School and attended Whitko High School.

He became a tradesman with the Plasterers' and Cement Masons' Local 692.  He retired with over 30-years of service.

Easy going, he was always fond of the outdoors and spent as much time as possible on his country property.  In his retirement, he enjoyed watching World Wresting Entertainment (WWE) or spending time with an engaging video game.

Surviving is a son, Brad Lee Ambrose of Auburn; a brother, Dennis Ambrose of Columbia City and a sister, Victoria Harness of Columbia City.

Additionally, he was preceded in death by brothers Kelly and Scott Ambrose.

There will be no services.  Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley.
