Michael Buffenbarger, 69, of Albion, died at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at the Laurels of Dekalb in Butler, where he had been a resident since November 5, 2021.

Born on March 1, 1952, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he was a son of the late Donald J. and Delores J. (Shallenberger) Buffenbarger.  Growing up in the Fort Wayne area, he attended Maplewood Elementary and Kekionga Middle School and graduated from Elmhurst High School.

On May 6, 1972 he married Joyce E. Lamley. They made their home in Albion.

Michael worked in Sales at Broadview Lumber and retired from Mullinix Plastics after 29 years at computer entry, after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2002.

He remained active for many years enjoying his time with his family and was an avid fisherman, bowler and golfer.

He was a member of West Point Trinity United Methodist Church, where he was also the projectionist.  He was also a member of the Anthony Wayne Stamp Society.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; sons, Michael S. (Michelle) Buffenbarger II, Steven A. (Autumn) Buffenbarger and Matthew S. (Heidi) Buffenbarger, all of Fort Wayne; sister, Patricia (Joe) Bowser of South Whitley along with nine Grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James A. Buffenbarger.

A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at West Point Trinity United Methodist Church with visitation from 1pm until the service.
