Obituary

Naomi L. Bowman, 96, of Columbia City, passed away at 6:06 p.m. Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Millers at Oak Pointe, Columbia City.

She was born on February 1, 1929, in Huntington County, Indiana, a daughter of the late Cecil and Jessamine (Tobin) Fosnaugh.  She lived in Roanoke, later moving to Larwill, where she graduated from Larwill High School.

She began her career as a nurse's aide at Millers Merry Manor (formerly known as Hillcrest Nursing home) and worked there for over 30 years.

She loved crocheting, sewing, reading and puzzles.  She really enjoyed reading her newspaper to keep up with current events.  She also loved her flowers.

Surviving are her sons, Dennis Bowman of Huntington, and Jack Bowman of Andrews; daughter, Cheryl Wolfe; and daughter-in-law, Jane Bowman both of Columbia City; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren; three brothers, Harold, Steve and Dean Fosnaugh; and sisters, Geraldine Crabill and Dawn Mulk.

She was preceded in death by a son, James Bowman; brothers, Richard and Charles; and sisters, Martha and Ruth.

The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025.  Burial will be at the South Park Annex Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 to 3 pm Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials in Naomi's honor are to the Humane Society of Whitley County.
