Obituary

Pamela Ann Luczak of Columbia City died peacefully in the company of her husband at 5:13 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at her home.

Born on June 11, 1947, in Lafayette, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Leon F. Davis and Bernadean J. (Gross) Davis. Growing up in Lafayette, she graduated from Jefferson High School in 1965.

Pamela married Lawrence "Larry" Leo Luczak on August 1, 1969, bringing their families together and having another son. She was a full-time homemaker caring for the couple's five children. They lived in Lafayette, then moved to Fort Wayne in 1973 and to Indianapolis in 1984.  In 1994, they moved back to Fort Wayne, locating in rural Columbia City.

In 2000, she began working for Lutheran Medical Group in Billing and Pre-Certification, retiring in 2016.

After her retirement, she dedicated much of her time to caring for her parents in Lafayette, while still making time to socialize with her work associates over lunches. Pamela enjoyed reading, especially James Patterson murder mystery novels, cooking, and traveling throughout the United States with Larry in their motorhome.

Pamela is survived by her husband of 56 years, Larry, their son, David (Allison) Luczak of Denton, TX; her children, Donna League of Nevada, Rodney Edwards of Sebring, FL, a step-daughter, Elizabeth Grace, of Warren, MI; twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and her sister, Deborah (Shawn) Sanburn of Lafayette.

Additionally, she was preceded in death by a stepson, Michael Luczak, and her sister, Patricia Vorndran.

A Memorial Gathering will be held at Smith & Son's Funeral Home in Columbia City on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Greenhill Cemetery, Columbia City.

Memorials in Pamela's honor are to Stillwater Hospice, Fort Wayne.
