Patricia Ruth Keck, 59, of rural Columbia City, died peacefully at her home at 12:20 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2020. She had been in declining health.

She was born September 16, 1960, in Wabash, Indiana, a daughter of the late William Dean and Helen Elizabeth (Keel) Kurz. Her formative years were spent in South Whitley where she graduated from Whitko High School in 1979.

On December 18, 1981, she married Douglas L. Keck. After their wedding they moved to Phoenix, AZ. In 1983, they moved back to the area returning to Phoenix in 1998. In 2015 they moved to their present home in rural Columbia City.

Patricia had worked for Shindigz, South Whitley, Warner Electric, Columbia City and most recently Zimmer Biomet, Warsaw.

She enjoyed making woodcrafts which she gave as gifts to her family and friends or sold at area shows and markets. The couple enjoyed traveling throughout the contiguous states.

She will be missed by her loving husband of 38 years, Doug and three sisters, Lena J. Mueller, Karole A. Holzinger and Blanche Diane (Kirk) Doty all of South Whitley.

The funeral is service is 1 p.m. Friday at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. Burial is at the Fairview Cemetery, Servia. Visitation is 11 a.m. until the service Friday at the funeral home.
