Randall Rex Slusher , 62, of South Whitley, passed away at 1:55 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne.

Born on July 24, 1961, in Columbia City, Indiana, he was a son of the late Rex Leroy and Alice Joan (Robbins) Slusher. He completed Pierceton Elementary School and graduated from Whitko High School in 1979.

On October 28, 1989, he married Karla Maria Sweeden, beginning their 34-year journey together raising a daughter.

Randy started his career at Seamco in South Whitley and then moved to Essex Wire in Columbia City. For the last 18 years, he has worked for Zimmer Biomet in Warsaw in the R-Com Plastics Department.

Artistic, he was talented at pencil drawings and could duplicate craft items he saw in stores, often gifting them to his beloved wife. Fond of Rottweiler dogs, he leaves behind his faithful friend and companion - Angus. When his grandson came along, they spent hours together in the outdoors, catching frogs, observing wildlife, and playing in the local parks. Randy relaxed by sitting on his porch, reminiscing about his childhood antics, or dancing at home with his wife.

Surviving is his wife, Karla, a daughter, Megan Slusher of Fort Wayne; grandson, Ransom Daughenbaugh; a sister, Debra Slusher; and brother, Doug (Sharon) Slusher both of Pierceton.

The funeral service is at 3 p.m. Saturday (March 30th) at Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. Burial will be at the South Whitley Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 p.m. until the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
