Reida Jean Zorger, 71, of rural Columbia City, died at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at Majestic Care of West Allen, Fort Wayne, where she was a resident since April.

Born March 11, 1950, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Ben and Bessie (Koch) Richards. Growing up in Washington Twp., Whitley County, she completed elementary school at Washington Center and graduated from Columbia City Joint High School in 1969.

On March 13, 1971, she married Kim L. Zorger. They have always made their home in Washington Twp.

A farm wife, she was active on the farm, performing whatever task required from driving the tractor or caring for the livestock. Additionally, she raised two sons and maintained the home.

A ten-year 4H member, she helped her sons with their 4H projects through the years. She is remembered as a good cook, preparing delicious meals for her family.

Surviving is her husband of 50 years, Kim; two sons, Jerry L. Zorger and Benjamin L. (Jill) Zorger, both of Columbia City; grandchildren, Christopher, Timothy, and Aidan Zorger and half-sisters, Lucy (David) Draper of Columbia City,  Judy Urly and Cheryl of Fort Wayne.

The funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Monday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial is at the Beech Grove Cemetery, Huntington. Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
