Richard E. "Rick" Gall , 67, of rural South Whitley, passed away at 11:27 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, following his battle with cancer.

Born on June 9, 1958, in Rochester, Indiana, he was a son of Harold J. Gall and Martha J. (Hughes) Gall.  Growing up near Akron, he graduated from Tippecanoe Valley High School in 1976.  An outstanding high school baseball player, he was scouted by several Major League Baseball teams, including the Philadelphia Phillies.

He began his work career at Lobdell-Emery Automotive in Marshall County.  After their closure, he became an oversize load escort traveling throughout the Midwest states.

At home, he enjoyed mowing grass, cutting the family's 12 acres weekly.  A faithful Chicago Cubs fan, he followed their season games.  During basketball season, he followed the IU Hoosiers.   He liked to ride his Triumph Motorcycle and taking leisurely trips throughout the States.

Surviving are his parents, Harold and Martha Gall of South Whitley, siblings, Harold W. (Kelly) Gall of Bloomington, Sandra (Michael) Day of Howe, and Susan Marsh of Union City, MI.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dustin Carr, and a daughter, Amanda Gall.

There will be no services.  Arrangements are in the care of Smith & Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley.
